Every week, we take a look at some of the restaurants that have opened or will soon open across the country. Here’s this week’s roundup:
On May 12, chef Bryan Podgorski will open Tanzy Restaurant in Westwood. The Italian concept is a partnership with Florida-based hospitality company iPic Entertainment.
Chef Roberto Santibañez will open his third Fonda location in Chelsea next week. The authentic Mexican food outfit started in Park Slope and features a selection of pork, chicken, and seafood items.
New York Cruise Lines, Inc., will open the North River Lobster Company, featuring a casual seafood dining experience on a Hudson River boat, this spring.
According to Eater, Hank Penza, former owner of the now-defunct Mars Bar, plans to reopen his beloved East Village bar in the new high-rise that occupies its former location.
The Summer Garden & Bar at Rock Center Café will open for the season on May 10 with a new summer design that features a refurbished garden area and lounge seating.
Chef Mazen Mustafa, former executive chef of The Elm Williamsburg, and Jenny Moon, owner of Apiary, have opened Après, a modern American restaurant, in the East Village.
Chocolatier Jacques Torres opened a pop-up store in Grand Central Terminal earlier this week. A Café Grumpy coffee house is scheduled to open in the Terminal’s Lexington Avenue entrance next week.
For the fourth year, Michelin-starred restaurant Rouge Tomate has opened their Rouge Tomate Cart outside of Central Park. In addition to assorted burgers, soups, and appetizers, the cart also features a juice bar.
Chef William Bradley of Addison at The Grand Del Mar, will head up the culinary efforts at La Jolla’s Bijou French Bistro, which will open in mid-June. The space will feature a wine bar, dining room, and bar lounge with live music.
Robb Duncan will open a new location of Dolcezza, his gelato outpost, in Washington, D.C. on June 1st. The 14th St. location will feature a to-go window and Stumptown coffee.
