Cocktail Sex On The Beach

Cocktail Sex On The Beach

On the occasion of receiving the fourth cap and my promotion from "talented" to "great", I say (I don't say, yes I say :)) that I should do honor. Of course, you will say, won't you? Here, I prepared a Sex On The Beach cocktail that I enjoy with you in mind ... and especially with Cleme :)

  • 30 ml of vodka
  • 30 ml peach liqueur
  • 75 ml orange juice
  • 75 ml of cranberry juice
  • 6-7 ice cubes

Servings: 1

Preparation time: less than 15 minutes

RECIPE PREPARATION Cocktail Sex On The Beach:

I put the ice in the glass, poured, in order: vodka, liqueur, orange juice and cranberry juice. I served immediately.

Tips sites

The peach liqueur isn't great, but it's the only one I've found. If you want to prepare this cocktail, I recommend you look for a better liqueur.

Because I didn't eat anything until this hour and I didn't want to get upset, I put ice like drowning and that affected the color of the cocktail a little, diluting it. 6-7 cubes are enough.

Cranberry juice can be replaced with grenadine juice.

The orange slice is the standard garnish for this cocktail, but in general the design is at the free choice of the bartender

Teo is right about the classic recipe but that doesn't mean you can't invent 7000 recipes under the same name

Sex on the Beach contains two parts vodka, one part peach liqueur, two parts orange juice and two parts cranberry juice. The classic method of preparing this cocktail is pouring and mixing, but it can also be mixed in a shaker for a better homogenization. Besides the original recipe there are also accepted variations such as Modern Sex on the Beach in which orange juice is replaced with pineapple juice. It is also very common to replace cranberry juice with pineapple juice and add a drop of grenadine syrup for color, but this variation is not accepted.

I want to make a recipe with garone peach with oranges, and other ingredients that I hope you can give me some ideas please

  • The choice of vodka is not important in this drink. Save some money and use your favorite "well" vodka. There are some good and inexpensive vodkas available that are perfect for heavily flavored cocktails like this.
  • If you like, transform this cocktail into a pitcher or punch drink. Simply keep the ingredients in proportion and increase each to the amount you need.

Is There a Good Substitute for Cassis Cream?

Crème de cassis is a black currant-flavored liqueur that also makes an appearance in the Kir and Chimayó cocktails. While not essential in the bar, it's a nice, inexpensive liqueur to have around. Though it's key in the more traditional bliss on the beach recipe, its infrequent use in the bar has caused many to turn to Chambord as a substitute the difference between the black currant and black raspberry liqueurs is not significant. Grenadine can also be used.

Where Was the Sex on the Beach Created?

It is without fail that the true origins of many famous cocktails are a little hazy. This drink is no different and there are a few popular stories circulating. One of the more common accounts for this cocktail’s creation points to 1987 and the rise of peach schnapps. Reportedly, liquor distributor National Distribution held a contest in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to see which bartender could sell the most peach schnapps. Ted Pizio from the bar Confettis won the $ 1000 prize thanks to his mix of vodka, peach schnapps, orange juice, and grenadine. He gave it the name because "sex on the beach" was one of the main reasons to spend spring break in Ft. Lauderdale. While that is a great story, according to some bartenders who worked in the ’80s, this was not the drink’s first appearance. Some claim to have mixed the drink as early as 1981. There are also stories from that early that refer to the Chambord version under the name "Florida sunset."

Why Is It Called Sex on the Beach?

Since the origin is unclear, the true meaning behind the name is as well. However, it likely stems from a scenario similar to the spring break theory. The '70s and' 80s were filled with tall, fruity, vodka-based drinks and many had the funky, sexy, and sometimes wacky names that get stuck in the minds of drinkers. "Sex on the beach" is great for selling drinks, though we like to call it "bliss on the beach" because everyone should be comfortable talking about this great drink.

How Strong Is the Bliss on the Beach?

The bliss on the beach is made primarily of nonalcoholic mixers, so it's not as strong as you might expect. Typically, the alcohol content falls in the 11 percent ABV (22 proof) range. It is a very average mixed drink, but it's easy to drink, too. This one can sneak up on you.

What Mixes Well With Peach Schnapps?

Peach schnapps is a sweet, fruity liqueur that's a common fixture in bars. Its strength varies, from 20 percent to 50 percent ABV (40 to 80 proof), so some peach schnapps can be stronger than the average vodka. You can drink peach schnapps straight, though some can be rather syrupy and better served on the rocks. It's also a versatile mixer and the key ingredient in many peach cocktails. It pairs well with other fruits, including cranberry juice in the woo woo cocktail, though it’s also delicious when mixed with hot chocolate.

  1. Firstly, gather all the ingredients.
  2. Add vodka, peach schnapps, cassis, pineapple juice, cranberry juice according to the amount given in a cocktail shaker.
  3. Shake over fresh ice into hi-ball or stemmed cocktail glass.
  4. Shake it well that it changes its color a little.
  5. Garnish it with an orange slice or maraschino cherry.

This simplest yet exciting cocktail will lighten up your day.

Who Invented the Sex on the Beach Cocktail?

This fairly simple concoction has a few tales behind it. Some attribute this drink, and its name, to a bartender at Confetti & # 8217s Bar in Florida. Ted Pizio was challenged to sell the most peach schnapps in the area as part of the promotion for the new spirit. He created the fruity cocktail and decided to name it after the reasons why he thought tourists visited the area. Back in 1987, he decided that sex and beaches were more popular than Mickey Mouse, thinking of the spring-breakers who would be the target market for the drink, and so the name was born.

Despite this quite believable story, historians have found examples of this cocktail in recipe books as far back as 1982. The idea is that it was created by combining a Fuzzy Navel and a Cape Codder.

Regardless of how the drink came to be, it was quickly picked up by TGI Friday & # 8217s which had a great reputation for cocktails at the time. This helped to raise awareness of the drink, creating its cult classic status that it enjoys today.
