Peacock eyes

For the dough: In a bowl sift the flour, add the mayonnaise (mix the yeast with 1 lgt sugar, a little milk and 1 lg flour and leave to rise for 10 minutes). Add lard or soft margarine at room temperature, egg yolks, sugar, warm milk and knead for about 10 minutes. Leave the dough to rise for 30 minutes, then divide it into 3 parts. (Although the recipe doesn't say so, I added 3 tablespoons of sugar and I did well, because the cake isn't very sweet anyway. I think there were about 2 tablespoons of sugar left.)

For the filling : mix the egg whites with a pinch of salt, add the powdered sugar gradually, and finally the ground walnuts.

We spread each sheet the length of the tray in which we will place it, we grease it with jam. On the long sides of the sheet we place the sweet cherries (I powdered a little semolina on the sheet and over the cherries) and roll both ends inwards, leaving a space for the walnut filling.

Place the roll without filling in the tray that I divided into 3 with the help of baking paper. Do the same with the other 2 sheets. After placing the cherry sheets in the baking tray, put the filling.

Leave in the oven for 40 minutes, until golden brown. (it took me longer)

After removing them from the oven, let them cool, then powder with sugar and cut into slices.

Paul Newman, the actor with the most beautiful blue eyes. A Hollywood love story

A stronger love story than in Hollywood movies. They were both married, but their destiny was to be together until the end of their lives. Actors Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward became inseparable after starring together in 1958 in the movie "Long Hot Summer."

Paul Newman played the role of "bad boy", but he quickly became very popular due to his impeccable physique and his perfect blue eyes.

Fruit peacock, playing with colors

Today we will go experiment with colors and flavors, and for this we will prepare a very funny peacock.

We can make this recipe with the little ones in the house, so that they can prepare their own desserts.

Preparation

We'll start taking the Moorish skewer sticks and we will go and put a grape of every color until the end of the flag. So we'll leave 8 flags ready for our peacock's feathers.

Then we will put the red or green apple on a tray, as you prefer, in this case we took a red one to give our peacock a little color and I began to nail each of the flags one by one in feather mode.

Finally, we will put our peacock beak in the shape of a white grape and, if we want to make it more fun, we will put some eye stickers.

French cuisine

The recipes from French cuisine they are delicious, easy to prepare and do not require exotic ingredients that are difficult to procure.

Food and cake recipes from French cuisine they are sophisticated, tasty and, wherever you eat them, they remind you of the luxury restaurants of Paris. The French emphasize natural ingredients, and any food is accompanied by a good wine, which they never refuse.

Sophisticated and delicious French cuisine has its origins in the Middle Ages when aristocrats enjoyed endless banquets during which they served countless dishes, all placed on the table at the same time. They were not satisfied with the quantity and always asked for food prepared according to complicated recipes.

Each region of France has its own culinary recipes and prefers special ingredients. In the Champagne region, the emphasis is on game recipes and every dinner is sprinkled with champagne, a drink that has its origins in these places. In Lorraine people have a weakness for recipes for sophisticated jams and quiches - the famous quiche Lorraine. In Alsace, French cuisine blends harmoniously with German cuisine, so the French drink beer instead of wine.

France's coastal areas prefer crustacean and fish recipes. Seafood is the favorite of the French in Normandy, who also use apples a lot in cake recipes. In Provence and the Côte d'Azur, the recipes are very much based on citrus fruits, vegetables and herbs, and salads do not lack olives.

Regardless of the area in which they live, the French prefer recipes with goat cheese, recipes with lamb, beef and chicken. Garlic and wine are also widely used in French cuisine, which give a special taste to a steak or any meat recipe.

Given that the restaurant, as we know it today, has its origins in French culture, we should not be surprised that the French have the best chefs in the world, and their recipes go around the globe, being prepared by both professionals and of housewives.

Like most Mediterranean cuisines, French cuisine is rich in olive oil, vegetables, seafood and fish, some of the healthiest foods we can eat. The French do not need "shortcuts" when it comes to their diet, do not go for fast food and prefer to cook traditional recipes, passed down from generation to generation. To this is added the pleasure of eating and the joy that surrounds the whole family around a table full of delicacies, which do not miss the glasses of wine, fruits and vegetables.

Dissolve the yeast in warm milk. Mix the flour well with the frame and add the 6 yolks, the milk and knead it until it is well blended. The shell thus obtained is divided into 6 equal parts, and left for 1/2 hour at rest (during this time the crust grows) in a warm place.

After we have left them to rest, we spread each crust to the size of the tray in which we bake it, we grease them with apricot jam and on the two edges we place the cherry blossoms and let them squeeze the juice beforehand, as often as possible. Roll the ends where we put the cherries in the middle, leaving a space of about a finger between them, here we will put the filling.

Beat the 6 egg whites with 200 g of powdered sugar, add the 400 gr of ground walnuts and mix. We will get a slightly more solid filling. Take from the composition thus obtained, make rolls and put in the remaining opening from the sheets. Place in a tray in which we put wax paper or aluminum foil and bake on low heat (the oven will be preheated). Then take it out of the oven, cover it with a towel, put a bag on top and then a towel again and leave it to cool.
