  1. Place ice in a liquidiser and crush for 15 to 20 seconds. Add strawberries, tequila, triple sec and limeade concentrate. Blend until smooth.

Best Strawberry Margarita Recipe

Strawberry Margarita Recipe


FRESH STRAWBERRY MARGARITA RECIPE

1 cup Patron Silver tequila (my favorite)
1/3 cup triple sec
1 lb fresh strawberries, tops cut off and hulled
1/3 cup fresh lime juice 
2 TBS agave or honey (or to taste)

Place prepared strawberries in blender and process until smooth.  Optional:  Pour into a fine mesh strainer over a small bowl to remove seeds.

Wet the rim of your glass and dunk in white sugar (It's good with sugar/salt mixture also). 

Pour strawberry puree into the blender with the remaining ingredients process.  If you want the drink slushy, add some ice or you can pour the it over ice. 򠫝 more tequila or sweetemer if you wish - it's your margarita.  Just make note of what you did and it will be perfect next time. 

*To make it sugar free, you may use fresh strawberries and add Stevia to taste before you fill your glass.  Please feel free to adjust to your own tastes.

I first saw this at Crate & Barrel. What a time saver - I don't know what I did without this strawberry huller . Strawberry lovers rejoice (I did do a little dance)!

Now that I am on the strawberry margarita recipe kick, I thought I would offer another refreshing cocktail to the masses.

EASY STRAWBERRY DAIQUIRI RECIPE

1 cup light rum
3/4 cup lime juice
3 TBS super fine sugar
1-1/2 cups sliced strawberries

Put the rum and lime juice into blender, and add sugar.  Process until dissolved.  Add freshly sliced strawberries and blend until smooth.  Pour into glasses that have been chilled and rimmed with sugar (just dip rim of glass into lime juice, then dip rim into sugar).

Slice the end of a strawberry half way up and place on the rim of the glass.  Enjoy.

Use fresh strawberries when in season and purchase frozen strawberries any other time.  If you are using frozen, add a few at a time when you blend them, repeat.

Make at Least 3 Different Strawberry Cocktails

If you have strawberry puree on hand, you are in for a treat.  This is the base for several cocktails.  You may also do this with peaches, blackberries and raspberries, or try something new!

Strawberry Puree Recipe

1 quart of ripe strawberries, washed and hulled
1/4 cup super fine sugar (or to taste)
1 tsp fresh lemon juice

Place the above ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.  At this point I taste it to be certain I don't have to add any more sugar because sometimes the strawberries are not as sweet as you think they are.  You use super fine sugar because it dissolves much faster then regular granulated white sugar. 

Don't like the strawberry seeds?  Make sure you have the correct sweetness and place the puree through a sieve. 

Now, what's a girl to do?  At this point, you may even make fresh strawberry juice.  Just take 3 or 4 tablespoons into 5 ounces of water.  Add ice (and a little vodka) and you have a refreshing beverage.

Want a little more of a kick?  How about a strawberry martini?   Again use 3 or 4 tablespoons of the strawberry puree with 3 ounces of your favorite vodka (Belvedere).  Place in a shaker of ice and shake until ice cold.  Place in a martini glass that has sugar around the rim.

Looking for something light?  Place 3 tablespoons of strawberry puree into a glass and add champagne.  You may even freeze this puree and use the frozen puree to keep the cocktail cold.

This makes 2 cups of strawberry puree (approximately 6 drinks)


Recipe Summary

  • 6 cups crushed strawberries
  • ⅔ cup tequila
  • ⅓ cup triple sec
  • ⅓ cup lime juice
  • 1 (1.75 ounce) package low-sugar pectin (such as Sure-Jell®)
  • 6 cups white sugar

Inspect 9 half-pint jars for cracks and rings for rust, discarding any defective ones. Immerse in simmering water until filling is ready. Wash new, unused lids and rings in warm soapy water.

Mix strawberries, tequila, triple sec, and lime juice together in a large stockpot. Stir in pectin and mix well. Bring mixture to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally continue to boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and immediately stir in sugar all at once.

Return mixture to a boil and boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir steadily to mix fruit evenly throughout jam and prevent floating fruit, about 5 minutes.

Ladle jam into the hot, sterilized jars, filling to within 1/4 inch of the top. Run a clean knife or thin spatula around the insides of the jars to remove any air bubbles. Wipe rims with a moist paper towel to remove any residue. Top with lids and screw rings on tightly.

Place a rack in the bottom of a large stockpot and fill halfway with water. Bring to a boil and lower jars 2 inches apart into the boiling water using a holder. Pour in more boiling water to cover jars by at least 1 inch. Bring to a rolling boil, cover, and process for 5 minutes.

Remove the jars from the stockpot and let rest, several inches apart, for 12 to 24 hours. Press the center of each lid with a finger to ensure the lid does not move up or down. Remove the rings for storage and store in a cool, dark area.

How to make Strawberry Margarita?

  • Puree: In a blender, puree the strawberries until smooth. Then, strain it in a mesh sieve to remove remaining bits.
  • Combine: Mix the puree, the rest of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker.
  • Prepare the glass: Slide a lime wedge along the rim of the glass and then dip the rims in sugar or salt. Gently shake off any excess.
  • Serve: Put ice in the glass about 3/4 of the way and then, pour in the mixture. Garnish, then serve.

Can you make Strawberry Margarita with frozen strawberries?

Sure, you can! Using frozen ones will limit your use of ice. It will be smoother in texture and more concentrated than when you use ice because of the minimal dilution when the ice melts.

What is the difference between a strawberry daiquiri and a strawberry margarita?

Both drinks use lime and a sweetener, but the main difference is in the alcohol. When making this recipe, you use tequila while for a daiquiri, you use rum.

How to make a large batch of margaritas?

Making a single serving each time would be time-consuming. So, what I do is to prepare a concentrate of the mixture in a pitcher, with or without the simple syrup. Then, I refrigerate it to chill while waiting for the guests.

You can keep the proportions or adjust as needed. When tasting it while it is not yet cold, be guided that the taste will weaken as it chills in the fridge.

Beforehand, prepare shallow bowls of lime juice and salt or sugar in which you will use to rim glasses. As the guests request for one, then, carefully dip each glass in the lime juice then to the salt.

Then, pour the concentrate in the glass with ice.

Can you make it in advance?

Yes! You can choose to put the blended mixture in freezer-proof containers like mason jars. Then, put each one in the freezer for you to defrost and enjoy later.


To make it on the rocks – First, start by removing and discarding the tops/stems of fresh strawberries. Then slice them in half until you have 2 cups worth.

Place the strawberries, tequila, lime juice, triple sec and agave syrup in a blender and blend until smooth.

Give it a little taste and if it’s not quite sweet enough for your liking, add in a little more sweetener. Serve over ice and that’s it!

To make it frozen – If you’re making the frozen version, you’ll follow the same instructions as above except instead of fresh sliced strawberries, you’ll use frozen strawberries. You’ll also add in 2 cups of ice to the blender to make the margaritas slushy, cold and frosty.

The easiest way to hull strawberries

The first order of business is to take off the strawberry leaves and stems. It’s of course perfectly okay to just slice off the green stem, but my favorite way to prep my strawberries is to take a straw, poke it up through the bottom of the berry right up to the stem.

This is called hulling the strawberries, and it’s not only easy but actually pretty speedy!

The stem and leaves will pop out along with a teeny core, giving you perfectly hulled strawberries without losing any of that delectable red outside. I use a reusable metal straw, but if you need to, a plastic straw also works just fine.

The other thing you need is simple syrup, which I promise is is ALL kinds of simple, and adds a lovely smooth sweetness to your cocktail.


Strawberry Jalapeño Margaritas

It’s pretty much a rule in our fam that when the weather hits 75+ degrees, I’m bringing out the margs. I’m bringing back one of my favorite recipes from the old blog days because it deserves to be front and center this weekend!

This Strawberry Jalapeño Margaritas came to be almost 8 YEARS AGO at our wedding. Our caterers and bartenders worked with us to craft a few specialty cocktails for our guests and this margarita was hands down the crowd fav. So much so that we ran out of tequila before happy hour was even over and had to go get some more from the market before dinner! I should note that we also did a pre-ceremony happy hour so a lot of cocktails were handed out before the actual dinner!! Clearly we’ve got a tequila loving crowd.

These are sweet from the strawberries, a little spicy from the jalapeño and the perfect refreshing cocktail after a long week!! The recipe below serves 2, but you can easily batch these up and make them ahead of time if serving a crowd. Just make sure to give the mixture a stir before pouring so you ensure the alcohol is evenly combined!


Strawberry Margarita Punch

OMG I LOVE this strawberry margarita punch so much! Ok I LOVE margarita ANYTHING! Maybe it’s the hidden lush in me, but I can down about 4 cups of this stuff back to back. It’s so good and refreshing. Sweet, tart, fizzy, and full of delicious strawberry margarita flavor!

Be warned though, this strawberry margarita punch is…how do I say this…dangerous!! The alcohol really hides well in this stuff (especially if you make it the day before) so it’s super easy to not even realize you’ve drank way to much until BAM! There you are naked…on a bar… with a Vikings hat on…….doing some weird Irish step dance. This stuff will sneak up on you and fast.

The beauty of this punch is that you can pretty much use any kind of berry-soda combination that you want to make a margarita-ish tasting punch. I’ve only used strawberry, raspberry and blackberry so I can’t vouch for any other flavors. Peach is on my list this summer though. Yes ma’am!

You can strain the strawberry puree if you don’t want the little black seeds floating in your drink. I leave them in there though because I think it looks cool and the little seeds are kinda fun to chew on when you catch one in your mouth.
