Don’t go looking for gin or whiskey in this century-old classic. Vermouth lands the starring role in a drink that’s light and herbal with a touch of absinthe to sharpen the edges.

  • 2 oz Dry vermouth
  • 1 oz Bénédictine
  • 3 dashes Absinthe
  • Garnish: Orange twist
  1. Pour ingredients into a mixing glass with ice and stir until cold.

  2. Strain into a chilled coupe.

  3. Garnish with an orange twist.
