Hot Blooded

Hot sauce and whiskey might sound like strange cocktail bedfellows, but here they blend nicely with blood orange juice and and chile liqueur for a warming drink of a different stripe.

  • 2 oz Rye whiskey
  • 1/2 oz Ancho Reyes ancho chile liqueur
  • 1/2 oz Fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz Blood orange juice
  • 1/2 oz Simple syrup
  • 4 dashes Hot sauce
  • Garnish: Blood orange peel
  • Garnish: Lime peel
  1. Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.

  2. Strain into a coupe.

  3. Garnish with skewered heart-shaped blood orange and lime peels.
