I used a frozen banana so my smoothie came out really thick (which I like). Not a bad recipe but I think the OJ overpowered the matcha flavour. I'd reduce the former or increase the latter next time.-07 May 2016

I didn't have OJ so threw in a heaping TBS of orange juice concentrate with a cup of water along with the other ingredients and I really liked this one! This is the 3rd matcha smoothie I've tried, and it's actually my favorite so far. Simple, clean flavors. Adding in some more tropical fruits would be great, but I don't think they're necessary (mango and pineapple would go really well with this mix).-29 Jan 2015

I think that maybe adding more fruits like peaces, mangoes, strawberries, etc. would have a huge and wonderful affect on the smoothie. It's just a little too plain for my taste.-08 Jul 2014

Have you discovered the magic of pineapple in smoothies yet? They add a fragrant, tropical sweetness, plus their acidity adds some zing to smoothie recipes.

First of all, this matcha pineapple smoothie recipe is totally energizing, and will add hours of concentration, memory enhancement, and focus to your day. It’s also a big mood-booster, and because pineapple and bananas are naturally so tasty and sweet, you won’t need to add any other sweeteners.

This smoothie is also chock-full of antioxidants, thanks to the matcha green tea powder. These antioxidants will help fight the side effects of UV radiation (keeping your skin from looking aged), alcohol, and tobacco smoke.

Antioxidants also fight far worse things, such as diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, and some types of cancer. It contributes to heart health: matcha powder has been linked with lowered blood pressure, and studies show that those who consume matcha regularly are less likely to develop heart problems. As for diabetes, studies have shown that the catechins in matcha powder reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 33 percent. A compound in matcha reduces the formation of deposits in the brain that cause Alzheimer’s disease.

And matcha’s help with fighting against cancer? Studies have shown that those who regularly consume matcha have a lower risk of breast, colon, stomach, prostate, bladder, and throat cancers. The antioxidants slow down the growth of tumors, and basically cause cancer cells to die. The properties in matcha also suppress the aggressive estrogen mediators in breast tissue.

The catechins in matcha tea powder are an anti-inflammatory, which can also help your body’s overall well-being.

Matcha powder is a detoxifier, and gets rid of heavy metals and chemical toxins in your body. In addition, it also acts as an immune system booster, fights cholesterol, and helps your body with digestion and weight loss.

As you can see, matcha tea powder is stuffed with great-for-you nutrients. Try it in this super-yummy pineapple smoothie soon!

Matcha Green Tea Smoothie – Keto Low Carb

I&rsquove had a bag of matcha green tea in my refrigerator for a few months. I use it occasionally to make a mock green tea vanilla latte. However, I haven&rsquot had one in a while.

Looking to use up the matcha powder, I figured I&rsquod try a new low carb drink. This time, I opted to make a keto matcha green tea smoothie.

To thicken up the smoothie, I added in some chia seeds. As the seeds absorb the liquid, the smoothie will thicken.

If you&rsquod like a thicker smoothie, you can add in some glucomannan or xanthan gum. Glucomannan is my preferred low carb thickener.

I love regular green tea, but it took me a long time to try matcha. My first taste was in green tea ice cream which is traditionally made with matcha to get the bright green color.

I&rsquove made green tea ice cream with regular tea bags. However, it doesn&rsquot have the same taste as those made with matcha powder.

That&rsquos why I finally broke down and ordered matcha. So far, the quick latte is what I&rsquove been using it for. And, now I have a great recipe for a low carb matcha green tea smoothie.

Matcha tea has a lot of benefits, more than regular green tea. The reason is because the tea it&rsquos made from the whole leaf. Therefore, there are more antioxidants.

I hope to work on a low carb green tea ice cream made with matcha this summer. Last year, I did make an attempt, but it froze really hard and it wasn&rsquot as creamy as I would have liked.

After my failed attempt at matcha ice cream, I didn&rsquot have time to experiment with it more. However, I&rsquom hoping to take off some time from work this summer to catch up on my &ldquoto do&rdquo list.

I hope you enjoy this green tea smoothie as much as I do. And, if you&rsquod rather have a fruity smoothie, you can check out my raspberry avocado or strawberry smoothie recipes.

How to use Matcha Green Tea in Recipes?

Matcha powder is finely ground entire green tea leaves that offer a moderate tea flavor with a hint of sweet taste and creamy texture. For culinary functions, it can be used in beverages like shakes and lattes, desserts like ice cream, puddings, baked items, and even in snack bars—select ceremonial grade for the highest quality drinking tea. I advise starting with adding one teaspoon to your recipe and then gradually increasing until you reach the preferred quantity of green tea taste.

If you’re a little lost on protein powder, start out with soy protein. In addition to being the healthier alternative, soy protein pairs well with just about anything considered to be amongst the meats when it comes to high-quality proteins.

Especially for those who aren’t on a strict exercise regime, soy is the perfect protein to get additional vitamins and minerals and curb your appetite. Experiment until you find your favorite.
(Maybe even swap the vanilla soy milk for chocolate?)

This banana matcha green tea smoothie recipe is so delicious you can double it as a dessert. Try adding a little chocolate or ground cinnamon to your banana matcha smoothie to satisfy your sweet tooth. When you’re ready for more matcha drinks, try out our iced matcha latte. How to make a matcha smoothie

It’s incredibly easy to make a matcha green tea smoothie with plant-based protein. I really wanted to boost the creaminess, so we’re using soaked cashews. Its

You’ll need to soak the cashews in coconut water to soften. You can soften cashew with three methods. The first method retains the most nutrients.

Soaking Cashews for a Creamy Smoothie

Method #1: soak the cashews overnight for 8 hours in the coconut water.

Method #2: Soak the cashews in boiling hot water for 10 minutes. This is what I call the “flash-boil” method when there’s no time to waste. Drain and then add to blender. You’ll lose some nutrients, yet you’ll still get the cream factor.

Once the cashews are softened, add them to a blender along with the coconut water that they were soaking in. Add the cashew milk, matcha, frozen banana, and vanilla beans to blender and blend until smooth and creamy.

Make this incredible matcha smoothie recipe for breakfast or snack and enjoy a delicious and energizing drink full of health benefits!
