Today I prepared something easy for dinner and fasting. They are warm so I invite you to dinner too!

  • 1.5 kg of new potatoes
  • 3 pieces of green garlic
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 5 tablespoons oil

RECIPE PREPARATION New red potatoes with green garlic:

We wash the potatoes and peel them under running water. We put them whole, or if they are bigger, cut in half, in a pot and cover them with water.

Boil them for 15 minutes with half a teaspoon of salt. After this time we drain the water. We wash the garlic and cut it into small pieces. We put it in a bowl with 3 tablespoons of oil and 6-7 tablespoons of water. We take a tray and place baking paper in it. Grease the surface of the paper with the remaining 2 tablespoons of oil, then put the potatoes. With a teaspoon we put the garlic on them. Sprinkle salt, pepper and paprika on top.

Put the tray in the hot oven and leave them until they catch a golden crust. When they are ready, we take them out, let them cool for 5 minutes. We also prepare a salad, and the meal is ready.

New potatoes with butter and dill

Choose new potatoes as small as possible, put them in a bowl of lukewarm water for 5 minutes. Clean them. If some potatoes are larger, cut them in halves or quarters. Wash and drain on an absorbent napkin.

Put them in a pot of water and half a teaspoon of salt. Let them boil for only half, 15-20 minutes. Drain the water in which they boiled and pour them into a baking tray. Add the butter cubes and sprinkle with pepper. Mix lightly with a wooden spoon to cover all the potatoes with a layer of butter.

Put them in the hot oven and bake on high heat until nicely browned, about 20 minutes.

Take them out of the oven and immediately sprinkle finely chopped dill and green parsley on top. Serve immediately with seasonal salads and sour cream or yogurt sauce.

I never thought I would miss such small things as new little potatoes (noisette).

In Romania they are extremely cheap and the markets are full. In Italy we never found little ones, so we took new bigger potatoes and cut them. New little potatoes are just frozen.

They are good, but they do not have the sweetness of fresh, new potatoes. So this year, we put a few rows of potatoes in the garden, especially to have these little ones. & # 128578

  • -new potatoes-2 kg
  • -1 head of garlic
  • -20 g salt (1 tablespoon grated)
  • -50 ml oil, lard or butter
  • -piper, dried hot peppers (optional)
  • -thyme, rosemary (optional)

How to prepare the recipe for new potatoes with garlic in the oven?

Put the potatoes in a bowl with cold water and leave for 20-30 minutes.

The soil and bark will soften. Wash with a new sponge-porous part, clean immediately.

Rinse very well with cold water, then place in the pan.

If the potatoes are small, leave them whole, if they are bigger, cut them into halves, quarters or cubes.

Add the garlic (cut the head in 2 or just crush it with the side of the knife), the fat, the spices and mix everything.

I made a roast chicken in the oven last night and today I made the potatoes. It was late last night, so I didn't eat anymore and I left to make the potatoes today.

I put the potatoes in the remaining chicken sauce. I made the steak simple, after the recipe for Chicken in the oven quick recipe, simple & ndash see here. So it was a shame to throw such a good sauce and I put the potatoes.

I added 2 small heads of new garlic, fresh from the garden and a few rosemary needles.

Cover the tray with aluminum foil or lid and put in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes. It is good to preheat the oven.

I don't put water in the tray at all, just fat and spices. After this time, remove the foil or lid, move the tray or stir the potatoes a little with a spoon. Put back in the oven and leave until golden brown. In 10-15 minutes I'm ready.

New potato salad with Greek yogurt and greens

They appeared in the market new potatoes autochthonous. With dimensions somewhere between hazelnuts and walnuts. 7 - 8 Lei / kg. Step. At Carrefour Market they are 2.50 Lei / kg, higher (some even too big), brought from the neighboring and friendly country, Egypt. I bought the latter and turned them into a salad. A salad similar to the one I told you about here. I placed the most recent one between the 1 May grill and the 3 May grill, on a slightly rainy day in some places.

What do you need?

  • 1 kg of new potatoes, not too big (about 12 pieces)
  • 4 - 5 green onions
  • 4 - 5 cloves of green garlic
  • 10 - 12 yarns of leurd
  • 1 bunch of dill
  • 300 g (2 cans) of Greek yogurt with 0% fat (not a mistake, they didn't have 10% fat so I used what I found)
  • Salt, pepper, hot paprika (or chilli powder) - to taste.

How do you proceed?

  • Wash the potatoes well and boil them in their skins in salted water
  • Let them boil for 10-15 minutes (or until a fork easily penetrates them), then drain them, and when they have cooled, peel them and cut them into (semi) thick slices of about 3 - 5 mm
  • Peel the onion and garlic and wash the leurda and dill well
  • Cut the first two into thin slices, and finely chop the last two
  • Mix the greens with yogurt and season abundantly with salt, pepper and hot paprika (or chilli)
  • Add the mashed potatoes (which should be cold) and mix lightly so as not to crush the potatoes more than necessary
  • Let cool for at least an hour before serving.

This salad can be used either as such or as a side dish. For example, next to some pan-fried chicken breast:
