Red wine doesn't only help you feel more relaxed it can actually help lower your blood pressure.
One small September 2012 study published in Circulation Research found that two glasses of red wine per day are tied to slightly lower blood pressure levels. Two glasses of non-alcoholic red wine, however, significantly lowered it by an average of six points — which is associated with a 14-percent reduced risk of heart disease and a 20-percent reduced risk of and stroke.

An August 2011 review of 143 studies conducted by researchers from Loyola University Medical Center and published in the medical journal Neuropsychiatric Disease and Treatment observed that regular, moderate red wine drinkers had a significantly lower chance of developing dementia.
While the researchers found a link between drinking wine and a lowered risk of dementia, this doesn't necessarily mean that red wine prevents the cognitive disease.
4. Red Wine for Heart Health
Red wine could be good for your ticker. According to a research article published in April 2016 in American Society for Microbiology, it's linked to a lower risk of heart disease — the leading cause of death in the United States — due to the way that resveratrol changes the gut microbiome.

Red wine (or more specifically, the grapes used in red wine) contains aromatase inhibitors (AIs) that work to decrease estrogen levels and increase testosterone in women who are nearing menopause.
While alcohol usually increases estrogen levels, which encourages cancer cell growth, a March 2012 study published in the Journal of Women's Health found that an occasional glass of red wine may have the opposite effect.

While drinking alcohol is a no-no during pregnancy, some research suggests that red wine may boost a woman's chances of conceiving.
One such study, published September 2017 in Fertility and Sterility and conducted at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, observed that high amounts of resveratrol preserves cells and results in an increase in the number of eggs in the ovarian reserve.

VINIFICATION AND AGEING:
The late harvest of the grapes usually takes place after the second half of October. Bunches are picked, selected by hand and placed in boxes of 5 kg each. The grapes then rest for about a month to obtain the right drying. The crushing process follows and the musts are then placed for three weeks in vertical temperature controlled steel fermenters. After the fermentation process, the wine is separated from the solid part and left to rest for a year in the cellar in underground tanks, thus avoiding even the slightest changes in temperature. The selection of the best crus follows to obtain a wine with high and homogeneous quality. This is then when ageing begins in Slavonian oak barrels, where the wine rests for a period ranging from 50 to 60 months. The bottling will then be carried out under nitrogen pressure and bottles are sealed in a vacuum. Finally, a further refinement in bottle follows for 6/8 months before releasing the wine for consumption.

How Antioxidants Work:
Within the body, it&aposs a lot like there&aposs a game of tag going on constantly between free radicals (unstable molecules) and antioxidants, which are like free radical scavengers, essentially. Let&aposs talk about free radicals and this game of tag. Free radicals begin the game as "it." The chemical fact about free radicals is that they&aposre missing an electron, so they have to steal an electron from another molecule in order to become stabilized. When a molecule is tagged, that molecule then turns into a free radical that is missing an electron, so they must tag another. Any tagged molecules must, in turn, tag other molecules to become stabilized. This begins a chain reaction in the body called a free radical reaction that continues unless stopped by the appearance of, you guessed it, antioxidants. But how do antioxidants stop the reaction? They do this by tagging back those tagged molecules and neutralizing them, or in science terms, donating extra electrons to free radical molecules, which then haults the chain reaction. The problem here arises when those antioxidants are low in numbers and the chain reaction gets out of control. This is a term called oxidative stress.
Foods high in antioxidants, like red wine, play a role in combating the many diseases, ailments, and minor illnesses associated with oxidative stress.
